There’s a great scene in the film “Jerry Maguire” where Cuba Gooding Jr.’s character, a football player, explains to his agent, Tom Cruise’s character, what “quan” is. He tells him that quan is more than just “coin”. It’s about love and respect AND money. And he wants to make the quan.
At the end of the film, Cuba’s character calls his agent his “ambassador of quan”.
To me, quan represents a fulfilling life and career. It doesn’t mean just making more money. It means being completed.
I believe that education brings people closer to their quan. It makes their quan possible.
And I believe that as a teacher, I am the Ambassador of Quan for my students.
